Intern, Government Affairs

Explore a career in government affairs with a trade association supporting businesses in their journey to use renewable and recycle resources to make essential products. This is a great opportunity to work alongside skilled professionals who advocate for our members’ interests and move our industry forward. This internship will provide meaningful work experience and a glimpse into how American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) supports a major U.S. manufacturing industry.

Support our dynamic and government affairs team by:

  • Preparing for AF&PA’s June fly in and Pulp & Paperworkers’ Resource Council event
  • Assisting with a congressional facility data project
  • Drafting briefing papers
  • Attending hearings and writing summary reports
  • Creating PowerPoints on member companies and key issues
  • Assisting Government Affairs with projects as needed

AF&PA's internships are intended to:

  • Provide valuable work experience in areas of interest and study
  • Allow individuals to learn about the essential and vital work of a major U.S. manufacturing industry
  • Provide exposure to the various disciplines within AF&PA, the public policy world and the industry
  • Expose interns to professionals in their field of study and other disciplines

Compensation:

Pay: $18.40 per hour

Expected hours: 37.50 per week, for 8 weeks
